The success of National Apprenticeship Week
It only feels like yesterday that we were talking about National Apprenticeship Week, and Starting Off were one of many apprenticeship companies who took full advantage of celebrating the occasion.
During the week, Starting Off went to visit schools across Northamptonshire to give talks to students and parents about apprenticeships, including Kettering Buccleuch Academy, Northampton Academy and Malcolm Arnold. All of the talks given during the week gained a really good reception, which encouraged plenty of questions being asked and sparked inter- esting discussions from both students and parents.
The celebrations didn’t stop there. They ran a ‘Krispy Kreme Selfie’ competition for their current apprentices to get involved with on Facebook. The concept was current apprentices had to post a selfie with a Krispy Kreme doughnut which was provided in the training rooms, which entitled them to be entered in a prize draw to win a meal for two.
Laura Taylor, Trainer at Starting Off and who organised the competition commented:
“We wanted our apprentices to feel special during National Apprenticeship Week. So instead of just ordinary celebration cakes, we offered every apprentice and student who came into our Northampton and Kettering training rooms a Krispy Kreme Doughnut to celebrate. Our teams did daily runs throughout the week to the large Tesco stores to ensure that everyone could have one!”
Another addition to the Starting Off training room during National Apprenticeship Week was their new ‘student break- out area’, accompanied by cosy sofas and bean bags where apprentices can chill out and have a break in the comfort of the training room.
Katie Goodall commented:
“National Apprenticeship Week has been a huge success for us. It’s been a great opportunity for us to highlight the bene ts of apprenticeships to the local community, whilst celebrating the successes of past and current apprentices who have trained with us.”
