This includes systems support and rectifying issues to maintain the organisations productivity. Job roles relevant for this course include help desk technician, first or second line support, IT infrastructure technician and network support. Apprentices enrolling onto this course will typically have completed an IT course at level 2 standard.
Starting Off provides two locations for training, Northampton and Kettering. These training centres are both within easy access to public transport.
An Infrastructure Technician provides support to internal and external customers, helping them to be productive when using technology to do their jobs. On programme learning for this apprenticeship includes the following modules:
The course takes approximately 15 months and delivery is through weekly ½ day release to the Starting Off training Academy, online resources, the visual learning environment and practical workshops culminating in an end point assessment. A trainer will visit the workplace every 4-6 weeks for coaching and monitoring meetings. The apprentice will need to spend 20% off the job training.
All Apprenticeships require learners to demonstrate a minimum level of Maths & English, however learners may be exempt from these with relevant GCSE grades. Don’t worry if you need to work with us on this as we’ll get you through them as part of your training.
