AAT Apprentices on route to success
To celebrate National Apprenticeship Week, we are sharing the success of some of our AAT learners!
Last September we launched the new Accounting Apprenticeship Standard and our first 16 apprentices on this programme have now passed their AAT Foundation Certificate in Bookkeeping Award.
This is the first stage of the Assistant Accountant Apprenticeship. Students are taught basic bookkeeping skills before progressing onto the full AAT Level 3 Diploma. The apprentices pictured are from our Northampton group and come from a varied range of companies both small and large employers; EBC Brakes, Haines Watts, Elsby & Co, Motor Neurone Disease Association, Heygates, Brockhall Fabrics, Excelsior Land and Northants County Council.
Some of the companies are using their Apprenticeship Levy to support their employee, whilst the smaller organisations have been able to take advantage of the Government’s 90% grant towards funding.
The group enjoy meeting every Wednesday morning with their AAT tutor Steve and have now started their Advanced Bookkeeping course. They are all mentored by our Account Manager Cheryl who visits them regularly in the workplace to keep them on track with all the elements of the Apprenticeship and to review their training with their employers.
With the regular contact they have with Steve and Cheryl and the support of their employers, all the apprentices have made a great start to their Apprenticeship journey and we look forward to supporting them through the rest of the programme.
