Training completed under an Apprenticeship Framework will
incorporate Key Skills and Technical Certificate training.
This training is available to anyone aged between 16-24, regardless
of whether they got a job through Starting Off.
Funding is not available for people aged 25 years or above but all courses are available on a "paid for" basis.
Our training is funded by the Learning and Skills Council. We
would be pleased to refer you to them for any other types of
vocational training.

The Apprenticeship in Business & Administration
(level 2)
A practical qualification that covers all the basic
tasks and equipment associated with the modern office
including working relationships, telephone techniques,
using contemporary office equipment and word processing. |

The Advanced Apprenticeship in Business & Administration
(level 3)
A business qualification that covers all the main
areas for a modern working environment in more depth
and more responsibility than the level 2. The level
3 also starts to look at basic supervisory duties
such as monitoring and planning work for more junior
staff. |

The Apprenticeship in Customer Service (level
2)
A qualification designed for people who are
communicating with customers on a regular basis,
by telephone or face to face. Areas covered include,
developing working relationships with customers,
solving customer’s problems, improving service
to customers and telephone techniques. |

The Advanced Apprenticeship in Customer Service
(level 3)
A practical qualification for experienced people
who are responsible for making their own decisions.
The course involves planning, implementing and evaluating
a customer service improvement project as well as
covering similar topics as level , but in more depth. |

| The Apprenticeship in Information
Technology (ITQ) (level 2)
A practical qualification for staff who are
working with computer technology on a daily basis
including production of documents, spreadsheets and
databases. |

The Advanced Apprenticeship in Information
Technology (ITQ) (level 3)
Aimed at a heavy IT user, this practical qualification
for staff who are working with computer technology
on a daily basis including IT maintenance for users,
IT security for users, internet & intranets and
presentation software. |

| The
Accounting Apprenticeships (AAT levels 2, 3 & 4)
A
professional industry recognised qualification at
foundation, intermediate and technician levels for
accounts staff. The courses cover accounts
based tasks ranging from basic day to day accounts
at foundation level to complex accounting and supervisory
tasks at technician level.

The Programme Led Apprenticeship.
Starting Off's pre-work office skills course is specially designed
to provide people with the skills they will need in the
work place.
| The course includes;
Keyboarding
Word Processing - Using Word to lay out letters, memos
and other office documents
Spreadsheets - Using Excel to produce reports, graphs and
calculations
Database - Using Access to input client data and produce
reports
Use of Office Equipment (fax machine, photocopier and franking
machine)
Telephone Techniques
Personal Presentation and Communication Skills

The Programme Led Apprenticeship programme has an excellent success rate giving new starters a head start for many trainee administration positions pay a minimum of £135 per week. You will attend around 16 hours per week and may be entitled to Education Maintenance Allowance.

Our training is delivered on a one to one basis allowing you to
develop at your own speed. The training is funded by the Learning & Skills
Council so it won't cost you a penny (provided you are aged between
16-24). We can also offer you a training programme even if you
find your own job. |
